The Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HSLSA) has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free and competent legal services to the weaker sections of the society and to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organise Lok Adalats to ensure that the operation of the Legal System promotes justice on the basis of equal opportunities.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice, High Court of Punjab & Haryana is the Patron-in-Chief and Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Lisa Gill, Judge, High Court of Punjab & Haryana is Executive Chairperson of the HSLSA.
Mr. Jagdeep Singh, District & Sessions Judge, is presently posted as Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority and Ms. Manvika Yadav is Joint Member Secretary of this Authority.
DISTRICT LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITIES IN THE STATE OF HARYANA:
Twenty Two District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) are functional in the State of Haryana. Each District Authority comprises of the District Judge as its Chairperson and a dedicated Chief Judicial Magistrate as the whole time Secretary, DLSA.
TALUKA LEGAL SERVICES COMMITTEE (SUB-DIVISIONAL LEGAL SERVICES COMMITTEE) IN THE STATE OF HARYANA:
There are 34 Taluka Legal Services Committees functioning in the State of Haryana, under the aegis of HSLSA.
